Welcome to Grade 2

Hello, my name is Mr. Sandberg and I will be your grade 2 teacher for the 2017/2018 school year at Royal Oak. I recently graduated from the University of Calgary with my Bachelor of Education in May 2017. I am a fresh and ambitious teacher. I specialize in elementary social studies and STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). For the last two years I have been working as a researcher at the University of Calgary, developing STEM activities for K-12 education, which include coding, robotics and 3D printing. I am also a musician and former guitar teacher. I have over a decade of experience playing guitar, bass and drums in various bands. I currently play drums for a casual jam band. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology from the University of Calgary, where I focused on primate evolution and prehistoric human migration. I was born and raised a Flames fan in Calgary and currently reside in Airdrie with my wife, daughter and dog.
