Literacy Week!

Today Mrs. Sparks read the grade 2's "Very Last First Time"

Inquiry: States of Matter
Today we continued our investigation into temperature and the Arctic. The students learned about States of Matter (Gasses, Liquids, Solids) and how temperature changes molecules and states of matter. We watched a short video, we looked at some volcanos and we did a live demonstration with students acting as molecules.

Literacy: Comprehension - Check For Understanding
Today we practiced using the Check For Understanding comprehension strategy. We read a short story that I wrote, with built in prompts to check for understanding. The kids really enjoyed this piece of original writing and so I have added a copy here:
