First Week Back Jan 7 - 11, 2019
I hope the holidays treated everyone very well. I'm back and well rested... or somewhat rested anyways.
Inquiry
We began to study the discipline of civil engineering through a variety of articles and videos. We discussed civil engineering and made some concept maps as well. Below is a short video about the unique challenges of engineering bridges, specifically the London Millenium Bridge.
London Millenium Bridge
Math
This week in math we picked up where we left off before the break and started to convert measurements from Tablespoons and Teaspoons into Ml and then we describe those conversions using number lines. We have also just started to explore fractions and describing the numbers in between numbers. For example, we asked the students to write, draw and explain what they think is in between the numbers 36 and 37.
Literacy
This week we have been reading a variety of civil engineering articles.
