Insects: Crawling and Flying Things!
Inquiry - Wetlands
We have started our latest inquiry, into crawling and flying things, looking primarily at insects.
Next Monday, June the 11th from 10am to 11am we are taking a trip to the wetlands to observe and investigate insects. I would love to have a couple of volunteers to help out with this short field trip. Please email me if you would like to volunteer at wjsandberg@cbe.ab.ca
Bike to School Day
Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 5 is Bike to School Day. To participate your students need to bring their bike tags and attach them to their bikes. The bikes will be stored in the gym starting at 8:40am and the gym will close at 9:10am when the bell sounds. Parents can bike too, but they must lock their bikes up using the front bike locks in front of the school.
Comparing Communities
To culminate our year long study of three of Canada's different communities, Prairie, Arctic, and Maritimes, we have begun to compare the differences and similarities of these communities.
Literacy
James and the Giant Peach
To go along with our inquiry into insects, we have started to read the novel James and the Giant Peach.
There is an audiobook available for free on YouTube. I have put a link below to part 1 of the audiobook. Please do not get ahead of where we are in class.
