ATTENTION ALL PARENTS IN MR. SANDBERG'S CLASS-- our class is so excited for an amazing experience coming up! I am beginning to take names for parent volunteers who would like to join us for 1 day or all 5 days at our Campus Calgary Open Minds program at the STEM Lab at the University of Calgary! Please email Mr. Sandberg at wjsandberg@cbe.ab.ca as soon as possible with the dates you are able to help us with. We will require 4 volunteers for EACH day to make this field trip possible, CBE Volunteer Clearance is required. Students will depart from and arrive at ROS at the same bell times as normal.
We will be gone ALL DAY on the following dates:
Monday, March 5th, 9:10-3:50
Tuesday, March 6th, 9:10-3:50
Wednesday, March 7th, 9:10-3:50
Thursday, March 8th, 9:10-3:50
Friday, March 9th, 9:10-12:50
Comics as text!
We have begun to explore the Arctic through comics. The students are currently creating their own Arctic comic strips. We are discussing humor, irony, text, characters and setting while thoughtfully creating our own comics. Here are some that I have made for the class and some that we have made together.

We have started a new unit called Grandma Eudora's T-Shirt Factory! We are exploring and practicing addition, subtraction and place value. You can listen to the story here:
