Math
We have been investigating strategies to calculate and compare ages. Some of the students came up with some interesting and effective strategies to subtract a younger person's age from and older person's age.
We have also looked at Landmark Numbers and found ways to find the closest landmark numbers for any number.
Inquiry
We have continued our study of the Maritimes and Buoyancy. We experimented with different materials and shapes of materials to see which things float and to discover if the shape and size of materials affect their ability to float.
We have also continued to look at the geography of the Maritimes and we have started to investigate who the Acadian people were.
Novel Study
We are still reading an adaptation of Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
Yesterday, after our Jump Rope for the Heart activity, we watched clips of the 1985 movie Anne of Green Gables and discussed similarities and differences between the movie and the novel.
