Ecology
Endangered Animal Research
This week, students will choose an endangered or threatened Peruvian animal to create an ecologists handbook to help inform the public and protect these endangered animals of Peru.
Social Studies
The Inca
We started looking at the people of Peru and we began this by looking into the rise of the Inca and the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors.
We also watched a short travel guide video of touring Peru and have started to look at the different regions and landscapes of Peru. Below is a link to the short Travel guide of Peru.
Secrets of the Andes
We have continued reading The Secret of the Andes about an orphaned Inca boy who is curious about the world around him across the Andes.
Literacy
We can focused our literacy on articles exploring ecosystems and ecology, making thoughtful annotations and then using those annotations to write paragraphs that paraphrase their understandings.
Math
In math we have continued to review what we have covered this year. Last week we focused on double and triple-digit addition and subtraction. This week we are continuing with triple-digit subtraction and exploring the relationships between numbers in the thousands.
